In 2020 Claresholm will begin welcoming foreign skilled workers through the Government of Canada’s new Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot.
The Town of Claresholm is located in Southern Alberta, and for the purposes of this pilot includes Stavely, Granum, and parts of the MD of Willow Creek. Claresholm is one of eleven communities across Canada selected for this Federal program, and the only community selected in Alberta.
The pilot is designed to support economic development within our community and strengthen our local business’s capacity to develop and retain a skilled workforce. Claresholm has been approved to accept newcomers through the pilot for 3-years beginning January 2020.
- The Claresholm RNIP Pilot will open February 1, 2020
- Applications for employment will be available on this website beginning February 1, 2020.
- Only 20 recommendations will be issued during the first year.
The Claresholm application information will not be available until January 2020.
All applications require a full-time permanent job offer, and the recommendation of the Claresholm Economic Development Committee before being considered for permanent residence. Refugees and Citizenship Canada will make all final decisions on permanent residence applications to our community.
